Leon is located in the state of Guanajuato and is the fifth largest city in Mexico.
Originally a colonial town rich in culture and history, the city later became known as the “Shoe Capital of the World”, due to its large production of quality leather goods and shoes for national and international markets, and without a doubt, it is a great shopping destination that also has modern architecture, top class hotels, excellent shopping centers and a great diversity of restaurants, all of this brought about by the city’s recent industrial growth.
Leon is strategically located in the center of Mexico, and it is very well connected to major cities and airports. The International Airport of Guanajuato is located 20 miles from Leon, and has direct flights to and from six U.S. cities, including Dallas, Chicago and Los Angeles.
